Restoration

Render Removal:

If you have a Victorian, Georgian or Edwardian property in London and are looking to have the render removed you’ve come to the right place. We are highly experience in render removed and over the years have perfected our technique to give you the highest quality finish.

If there are cracks or holes in your render moisture could build up behind and cause damp patches inside your house. This is why it is better to do it sooner than later, not only does this increase the breathability of your home but it also restores your period property back to its former glory.

The Process…

Step 1: The first step in this process is to remove the render from the bricks. Once the scaffolding has been assembled we can start to remove the render with a mixture of machines and hand tools. Once the majority of the render has been removed we can move on to the sanding process.

Step 2: There are two stages to the sanding process. First we carefully remove the bulk of the render left on the bricks with a more abrasive sanding technique. In the second stage of the sanding process we finely sand any remaining bits of render with a more gentle sanding process.

Step 3: The third step in this process is to replace any damaged or broken bricks found under the render. We will precisely remove all damaged bricks and replace them with a reclaimed brick that is a perfect match, causing the minimal amount of damage to surrounding bricks.

Step 4: The forth step is to remove and replace the old pointing. If the render has been on the building for a long period of time or there are cracks and holes in the render, the pointing underneath is most likely weak due to the absorption of moisture. We offer many different types of pointing depending on the finish you are looking for. See list below*

Step 5: The fifth and final step is to seal the brickwork and clean. Once we are happy with the finish of the sanding and pointing we will clean your window frames and surrounding areas to ensure there are no cement stains. We then spray a special sealant on the brickwork to protect it from the elements.

Repointing:

If you want to repair old pointing or change the look of your house we offer a wide variety of services from patching in sections to completely repointing your home.

Brick / paving cleaning:

During this process we dilute a solution of Hydrogen chloride (HCL) with water, this is an extremely powerful cleaner that will effectively dissolve all cement, limescale, oil and mortar stains . We then apply the brick acid to the wall or patio with a heavy duty brush and scrub. Once all of the cement stains have been removed we then wash down the wall or patio to remove any leftover residue.
