The Brief:
St Margarets House was a vacant, run down brewery in need of complete refurbishment. Our client had purchased the property and gained approval for four luxury apartments to be built. The ground floor frontage was listed, so respect and care were necessary at every step.
What We Did:
Everything behind the listed frontage was demolished in order to maximise space. The client was very clear that the new development was to be in exact keeping with the warner period style of the surrounding buildings. The brickwork and features included yellow stock and soft red bricks, stone, arches and herringbone brickwork.
Once the new building was up to roof height, the building above the ground floor brewery looked old and disjointed, so as instructed by the client, we carefully dismantled all the original stone and brickwork, down to the first level and rebuilt it as new with every original detail.
With the property wall in its’ final stages, the garden walls were built with railings, the icing on the cake.
